In August 2026, GLA Global Logistics Alliance concluded its Pakistan mission across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, marking a major step forward in regional cooperation. During the visit, the Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA) and GLA signed a Memorandum of Understanding. As a leading global B2B logistics platform, GLA is leveraging the partnership to advance the integration of regional logistics ecosystems with global supply chain networks.
Focusing on SMEs Making AI Accessible
On August 20, GLA and PIFFA jointly hosted an AI Application Seminar for Pakistani logistics enterprises in Lahore. The seminar brought together PIFFA Chairman Jamil Ahmed, FIATA President Prof. Dr. Thomas Sim, GLA President Ms. Grace Sun, and senior PIFFA trainers Faisal Sohail and Farhan Saleem. Together, they addressed four key dimensions, local industry practice, international standards, platform empowerment, and talent development, reflecting the real needs and active exploration within Pakistan's logistics sector as it navigates digital transformation.
In her keynote, Ms. Grace Sun focused on the path to AI adoption for small and medium-sized enterprises. She noted that a key value of AI lies in lowering the technical barrier, allowing small and mid-sized freight forwarders without in-house IT teams to tap into operational efficiency tools that were once available only to large enterprises.
GLA's digital tools and global network resources are built to advance this goal: enabling SMEs to overcome the technological divide. Supported by the platform, small‑and‑medium enterprises can compete on an equal footing with large corporations.
Deepening Regional Engagement Through Global Networks
GLA's engagement with Pakistan has been steadily building. In 2024, the Consul General of the Embassy of Pakistan in Guangzhou visited GLA's Shenzhen headquarters for discussions on bilateral logistics cooperation. That same year, Ms. Grace Sun was invited to speak at the Pakistan-China Business Conference, where she joined government and business leaders from both countries.
