The 7th Global Logistics Conference (GLC 2026) concluded from August 25 to 27 at the Pyramid Continental Hotel in Juba, South Sudan. As the flagship annual event of the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations (FEAFFA), this year's edition was hosted by the South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association (SSFFA). GLA Global Logistics Alliance participated as a key partner, received an official honor from the conference, and joined approximately 1,000 industry representatives from across the globe in witnessing the reshaping of Africa's supply chain landscape.
A Milestone Edition in South Sudan
GLC is FEAFFA's annual freight logistics gathering, first held in Tanzania in 2017, followed by editions in Uganda and Rwanda. It has since established itself as a vital platform for freight logistics dialogue in East Africa and beyond. The 2026 edition marked the conference's first landing in South Sudan, signaling the event's expanding reach into the broader African interior.

The Government of South Sudan positioned the conference as a significant milestone in the country's economic transformation. At the opening ceremony, Hon. Rizik Zakaria Hassan, Minister of Transport, delivered remarks on behalf of H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, articulating the government's strategic commitment to upgrading logistics infrastructure and deepening regional trade integration. H.E. Gen. Taban Deng Gai, Vice President of South Sudan, attended the closing ceremony and delivered an address, with senior government officials participating throughout the event.

High-Level Regional Gathering
The conference brought together approximately 1,000 trade, transport, and logistics professionals from across Africa and around the world. Prof. Thomas Sim, President of FIATA, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the central role of logistics in global supply chain transformation. Also present were Charles Mwebembezi, President of FEAFFA; Dr. Deng Diar Diing, Executive Secretary of the Northern Corridor; Hon. Tong Akech Deng, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of South Sudan; and Hon. Solomon Ariik Manyok, Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority. Discussions spanned trade facilitation, digital transformation, green logistics, and sustainable development, alongside the FEAFFA Logistics Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner.

As a leading global B2B logistics platform with a network spanning over 170 countries and more than 7,000 member enterprises, GLA received an official honor at GLC 2026. The recognition reflects the growing role of globally connected platforms in supporting Africa's logistics ecosystem during a period of rapid restructuring.
Throughout the conference, the GLA booth drew sustained engagement from government officials, association leaders, local logistics enterprises, and international freight forwarders. Discussions centered on cross-border collaboration, network resource sharing, and supply chain efficiency.
